 Our Story

We believe the greatest challenges facing our world can only be solved by thinking differently. Global Health New Zealand was founded when serendipity drew together a global health strategist, a human rights lawyer and a polymath doctor.

We discovered that we shared similar passions but had been taking markedly different approaches towards delivering real-world solutions to the very same problems. Victor Zonana is the founding Chair of Global Health Strategies. Hazel Heal is a human rights barrister, and Dr James Freeman is a telemedicine pioneer with a reputation for thinking outside the box.

GHNZ represents our joint commitment to improve global health via carefully considered projects which translate ideas into scaleable implementations delivering measurable results.
